In addition to international conferences
APETAU also holds occasional workshops and forums in collaboration with Arab
universities.
In November 2001 a workshop was held at
Garyounis University in Libya in collaboration with the Libyan APETAU
Branch. Over 50 Libyan university professors of English and translation
participated in the workshop. In addition, the following members of the
APETAU Board of Management delivered papers in the workshop: Professor Lewis
Mukattash (AOU / Kuwait), Professor Abdullah Homeidan (King Saud University
), Dr Zahra Mustafa (Jordan University of Science and Technology ), Dr
Jihad Hamdan (University of Jordan) , Dr Hameed Matter (University of
Bahrain), Dr Zahia Roula (Mentouri University / Algeria) , and Dr. Ibrahim
Chammam (Tunis University)
In August 2004 APETAU First Regional Forum was held in collaboration with the
Hashemite University in Jordan. The forum was attended by over 80 professors
and lectures, mainly from Jordanian universities. However, colleagues from
some Arab countries were also present and took part in the forum seminars.
